Terms of Service

Governed by the law of England & Wales

Please read these Terms. By creating an account or using UWriter, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use UWriter. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the law of England and Wales. Last updated: 15 July 2026.

1. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any breach of the rights implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2015; or (d) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to the paragraph above, and so far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity, or for any indirect or consequential loss. UWriter is provided "as is", and AI-generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete — you should not rely on it as a substitute for professional advice.

Subject to the first paragraph, our total liability to you arising under or in connection with the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) £100.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. You keep all rights that the law gives you as a consumer, and nothing in these Terms takes those away.

2. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend, restrict or end your access to UWriter if you break these Terms, if we reasonably suspect misuse, or where we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice. You can stop using UWriter and close your account at any time. If we end your access for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the pro-rata portion of any prepaid fees for services you have not received. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

3. Your Content & Responsibility

You are responsible for the content and prompts you submit and for how you use any output. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or reliability of AI-generated output. If you use UWriter in the course of a business, then to the extent permitted by law you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service. This indemnity does not apply to you where you are using UWriter as a consumer.

4. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we will take reasonable steps to tell you (for example, with a notice in the app). Changes take effect when posted, and continuing to use UWriter after that means you accept them. If you do not agree to a change, you should stop using UWriter; and if you are a consumer and a change materially disadvantages you, you may cancel and we will refund any prepaid fees for services you have not received.

5. Governing Law and Exclusive UK Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service, their subject matter, and their formation are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and UWriter both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of UWriter.

6. Service Availability

We do not guarantee 100% uptime and are not responsible for any downtime or data loss.

7. Intellectual Property

All logos, branding, and original code remain the property of UWriter.

8. License to Use

You are granted a non-exclusive, revocable license to use the service in accordance with these terms.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the service.

10. Acceptable Use

You may not use the service to generate illegal, harassing, or dangerous content.

11. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

12. Payments, Cancellation & Refunds

Prices are shown at the point of purchase. As a consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital services under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because our passes and features are supplied to you immediately, by starting to use them you ask us to begin straight away and acknowledge that you lose this 14-day right to cancel once the service has been fully performed. This does not affect your other statutory rights, including your right to a remedy where a service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill.

13. Taxes

You are responsible for paying any applicable taxes related to your purchases.

14. Fair Use Limits

We enforce rate limits to protect service stability. Attempting to bypass limits is a violation.

15. API Restrictions

Automated scraping of our web interfaces is strictly prohibited.

16. Output Rights

You retain all rights to the code and text generated by your prompts, subject to the rights of the underlying LLMs.

17. Beta Features

Beta features are provided as-is and may be removed or altered without notice.

18. DMCA Policy

We respect copyright law and expect our users to do the same.

19. Feedback

Any feedback or suggestions you provide may be used by us without restriction or compensation.

20. Third-Party Links

We are not responsible for the content of third-party websites linked within the service.

21. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

22. Entire Agreement

These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and UWriter.

23. Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

24. Waiver

Failure to enforce any right or provision will not be considered a waiver.

25. Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.

26. Survival

Provisions regarding liability, indemnification, and IP shall survive termination.

27. Age Restrictions

You must be at least 13 to use the Service. If you are under 18, you need parental consent.

28. Commercial Use

Free tier users may use the outputs for commercial purposes, provided they do not resell the API access.

29. Recurring Payments

Where a plan renews automatically, we will make the renewal price and timing clear before you buy, and you can cancel at any time before the next renewal date to avoid further charges.

30. Data Accuracy

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.

31. Export Control

You may not use the service if you are located in a comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction.

32. Your Rights as a Consumer

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other UK consumer law — including that digital services should be provided with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits those rights. Free, impartial advice is available from Citizens Advice. These Terms do not give any rights to third parties under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
